Mecca Muster

The 46th Annual Mecca Muster and AGM 2026

This meeting will be held online on Saturday 17th October 2026.

Speakers will included a representative of the West Yorkshire Archiver Service as well as other topics of interest.  Many Metcalfes left the Dales for the industrial cities of Bradford, Halifax, Huddersfield, Leeds and Wakefield, following mining and clothing industries - so maybe your ancestors did.

The 45th Annual Mecca Muster & AGM 2025

The 45th Annual Mecca Muster and the AGM was held on Saturday 4 October 2025.

The meeting waas held in The Cloisters, Tennants Auction House in Leyburn, and we welcomed both live and online visitors, including a number of non-members.

The presentations including an introduction to the parish registers and other documents held by the Borthwick Institute and Archive based in York, as well as updates on the Metcalfe DNA project and an introductiion to the new website.
